6/16/2023 0 Comments Wd my passport backup stuck![]() Any ideas what might be going on?Ĭode: Select all ~]# dmesg mapped_device minor=2 dm-linear: ti->max_io_len = 0 dm_create -1 mapped_device minor=3 device-mapper: thin metadata: _create_persistent_data_objects: b lock manger get correctly device-mapper: thin: Data device (dm-2) discard unsupported: Disa bling discard passdown. This seems a complete nightmare and not what I was expecting from something that worked so flawlessly on my usb stick. The latter just doesn't respond so I tried stopping the background task but still can't eject the disk, the external storage ui becomes unresponsive. I can't stop the job now, I have to either pull the plug on the usb disk or try to eject it. After closing the backup station window and then opening it again it doesn't show any jobs although they are there when I reboot the NAS. I can hear the internal drives grinding every so often but the folders are still empty. SMB becomes so slow and unresponsive as to give time out errors. The top folders and files were done but as time went on I couldn't even look at the drive. That small folder is taking a millenium and during the operation the control panel showed 1% done. ![]() ![]() When I hooked up the WD drive - no such thing. This works perfectly and the contents are backed up in a few seconds. I had tested Backup station on a usb stick formatted NTFS and got it to backup a smallish folder set for real-time mode. Today I got a 3TB usb drive (WD passport ultra).
